"BEST IN MARKETING"
The Financial Times just released MBA rankings, including schools which they deemed to be in "a league of their own" in certain categories. Scrolling down the list reveals a "best in marketing" category where UW-Madison is ranked #7 in the nation, right up there with schools like Kellogg, Kelley, Ross and Wharton - all institutions that seem to be top-of-mind when thinking about marketing.
This is awesome and much-deserved publicity for our program and confirms what all of us who are here already know - that when we leave with our degree, it will be as valuable as any other in the country.

I have found there is a unique sense of leadership here at Wisconsin when it comes to the marketing discipline -- especially in the area of brand strategy and development, led by Tom O'Guinn.

The volume of research published by this faculty is pretty amazing; moreover, the amount of foot traffic we attract from practitioners and academics at other institutions that want to address the school on marketing topics -- from Scott Cook at Intuit to leaders of major CPGs to major thinkers on current topics such as 'experiential branding' -- is pretty impressive.

This ranking really confirms what I've witnessed since I got here in August.

On Wisconsin!
